More Info

  • Most patients are suitable for skin needling. Please check the list of contraindications below and discuss with your therapist if necessary.

    • Tattoos in treatment area.

    • History of keloid scarring.

    • Treatment of areas with skin cancer.

    • Increased bleeding or tendency for wound disorders.

    • High doses of cortisone.

    • Cancer within 2 years.

    • Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy.

    • Pregnancy or trying to become pregnant.

    • Breast feeding.

    • Anti-coagulant therapy.

    • Use of Retin-A or tretinoin in the treatment area in the last 2 weeks.

    • Use of Roaccutane in the last 6 months

    • Tanned (natural or false) or sunburned skin

    • Photosensitising medication or use of St John’s wart

    • Contageous skin diseases (Impetigo, Chicken Pox, Mumps)

    • Skin Irritation, open lesions and/or allergic reaction

    • Immunosuppression

    • Hepatic disease

  • Please notify your therapist if any of the following precautions are relevant to you. 

    • Client’s prone to Herpes simplex

    • Waxing, plucking, laser hair removal (past 2 weeks)

    • Feeling unwell

    • Avoid sun 4 weeks prior to treatment

    • Chronic disease

    • Cosmeceutical Vitamin A, AHA, BHA and/or Vitamin C (past 3 days) 

    • Scars (less than 6 months old) 

    • Allergies to latex or anesthesia

    • Fillers (past 4 weeks)

    • Laser treatment / cosmetic surgery (past 3-6 months)

    • Anti-wrinkle injections (past 2 weeks) 

    • Chemical peel, micro needling and/or micro blading (past 2 weeks)

  • Surgical-grade micro-needles create tiny wounds that accelerate the body’s natural healing process and work to repair the skin through increased production of collagen and elastin.

  • Thanks to the optimal needle count, needle design and speed of treatment many clients ¬find treatments with TWIST® involve minimal discomfort and are more comfortable than treatments with standard micro-needling devices.

  • Depending on treatment intensity you may experience redness and minor pin-point bleeding immediately after a micro-needling treatment. Post-treatment redness may appear like a mild sunburn and last up to 3 days. Your clinician will recommend an aftercare plan and a post-treatment skin care product to assist in skin hydration and accelerating your results.

  • Clients can see results in as little as 13 days with collagen production formulating 6 weeks post-treatment. Depending on the treatment area and desired outcome, most clients will require 4-6 treatments to achieve their best results.
